چکیده
The Northeast Passage (NEP) has always been an attractive transport alternative for trade between Northwest Europe and Asia due to its shorter distance. While a growing body of literature addresses the economic technical viability NEP transit shipping, there is still need increased knowledge on features maritime regions that could potentially use route. This study aimed propose conceptual model explain main factors influencing cargo demand transported by container ships in order analyse types increase using NEP. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was applied empirical data volumes suggested logistics performance greatest impact total volume ship flow these regions. are further disaggregated examine how analysed varied commodity groups. contributes identifying which type may be most receptive case opening regular shipping whilst offering insights into global policy uncertainty demand.

متن کاملRelationship between container ship underwater noise levels and ship design, operational and oceanographic conditions
Low-frequency ocean ambient noise is dominated by noise from commercial ships, yet understanding how individual ships contribute deserves further investigation. This study develops and evaluates statistical models of container ship noise in relation to design characteristics, operational conditions, and oceanographic settings. Five-hundred ship passages and nineteen covariates were used to buil...
متن کاملAn Alternative Approach to Alternative Routes: HiDAR Technical Report
Alternatives to a shortest path are a common feature for modern navigation providers. In contrast to modern speed-up techniques, which are based on the unique distance between two locations within the map, computing alternative routes that might include slightly suboptimal routes seems a way more difficult problem. Especially testing a possible alternative route for its quality can so far only ...
